Aortic Aneurysm
An Aortic Aneurysm is a serious condition where the wall of the aorta — the main artery carrying blood from the heart to the rest of the body — becomes weakened and bulges outward. If left untreated, it may rupture, leading to life-threatening internal bleeding.
				Types of Aortic Aneurysms
- Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm (AAA): Occurs in the lower part of the aorta (abdomen).
 - Thoracic Aortic Aneurysm (TAA): Occurs in the upper part of the aorta (chest).

Causes & Risk Factors
- High blood pressure
 - Smoking
 - Atherosclerosis (hardening of arteries)
 - Genetic conditions (e.g., Marfan syndrome)
 - Age (common in people over 60)

Symptoms
Often asymptomatic in early stages. Larger aneurysms may cause:

				- Pulsating feeling in the abdomen
 - Back or chest pain
 - Shortness of breath
 - Hoarseness (in thoracic cases)

Diagnosis
- Ultrasound or CT Scan to detect size and location
 - Routine screening for high-risk individuals

Treatment Options
- Monitoring: For small, slow-growing aneurysms with regular checkups
 - Medication: To manage blood pressure and reduce rupture risk

Surgery
- Endovascular Aneurysm Repair (EVAR): Minimally invasive stent placement
 - Open Surgery: For larger or rapidly growing aneurysms
